Privacy Policy

Slap Links ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that adds visual and audio effects when clicking links. This privacy policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Collect

The Extension collects the following data, stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage APIs:

• Click activity: Total slap count, combo stats, best combo, slaps per site, slaps per hour, slaps per day, and a screen position heatmap. This data is used to display stats and unlock achievements.
• Site hostnames: The hostnames of websites where you use the Extension (e.g., "github.com"). Used for the "top site" stat and the site blocklist feature. We do not store full URLs or page content.
• Preferences: Your selected theme, emoji, shake style, sound pack, counter colors, and enabled/disabled status.
• License key: If you purchase Slap Links Pro, your license key and validation status are stored to enable premium features.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, address) through the Extension.
• We do not collect browsing history, page content, form data, or passwords.
• We do not collect financial or payment information. Payments are processed by Gumroad, a third-party payment provider.
• We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or any third-party tracking services.

Where Data Is Stored

• Local storage: Slap count, achievements, stats, and heatmap data are stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. This data does not leave your device.
• Synced storage: Preferences (theme, emoji, shake, etc.), blocked sites, and license key are stored using chrome.storage.sync, which Chrome may sync across your devices if you are signed in to Chrome.
• Custom sound packs: Audio files you upload are stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. They do not leave your device.

External Requests

The Extension makes one type of external request:

• License validation: When you activate or re-validate a Pro license key, the Extension sends a POST request to our Cloudflare Worker (slap-links-validate.matiassalles99.workers.dev), which validates the key against the Gumroad API. Only the license key is sent. The response contains only a valid/invalid status. No other data is transmitted.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share any user data with third parties. The only external communication is the license validation described above.

Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device and persists until you uninstall the Extension or clear your browser data. We have no server-side database of user data.

Your Rights

• You can disable the Extension on specific sites using the Sites tab in the popup.
• You can disable the Extension entirely using the toggle in the popup.
• You can delete all Extension data by uninstalling the Extension.
• You can deactivate your Pro license at any time from the popup.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
